About Kink Test
An independent, adults-only resource for self-reflection and honest conversation.
Kink Test is a free quiz and a library of plain-language guides about how people relate to control, trust, novelty and emotional closeness. We built it because most online material on this subject is either sensational, shaming or written as if curiosity were a symptom. We think curious adults deserve calm, accurate and respectful information, and a private way to put words to their own preferences.
What the quiz is
The Kink Test is a short self-reflection quiz. It asks 15 questions and returns a profile across five relational styles: Dominant, Submissive, Switch, Explorer and Romantic. The profile describes tendencies in how you relate to leading, following, novelty and connection. It is not a diagnosis, it is not a clinical instrument and it does not predict behavior. The quiz runs entirely in your browser, and your answers are not sent to our servers.
What you will find in the blog
Our blog covers five areas: the five archetypes in depth, the psychology and research behind relational preferences, communication and consent skills, how the quiz compares with other self-assessments, and practical guidance for couples. Each article explains its reasoning, links to the sources it relies on and states plainly where the evidence is limited.
How we write
- Evidence first. When we describe research, we link to the study or the organization and describe only what it found. We avoid claims that go beyond the data, and we say so when science has no firm answer yet.
- Consent and safety are central. We treat informed, ongoing, freely given consent as the foundation of every relationship topic we cover.
- No explicit content. The site is framed around relationships, communication and psychology. We do not publish explicit sexual material.
- No shaming. We do not treat consensual interests as disorders, and we do not treat any archetype as better or worse than another.
- Honest limits. A free online quiz cannot see your history, health or relationships. We say what it can and cannot tell you.
What we are not
We are not therapists, doctors or lawyers, and nothing on this site is medical, psychological, sexual-health or legal advice. If you are struggling with distress, a relationship problem or anything that worries you, a qualified professional who is informed about sexual diversity is a better resource than any website. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact your local emergency services.
Who this site is for
Kink Test is for adults aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please leave this site.
